Opened in 1983, this award-winning Jack Nicklaus Signature Design 18-hole golf course - set on 140 acres of manicured turf and nestled between the mesmerizing San Jacinto and Santa Rosa mountains, is considered one of the most breathtaking views in all of the Coachella Valley.
Established in 1982, The Morningside project was the culmination of a lifelong dream of real estate developer, Ed Johnsen. It was the second of two Ed Johnsen projects in the desert.
Morningside was the most upscale project in the desert at the time. Jack Nicklaus was brought in to design the golf course, a premier interior design firm from San Francisco designed the Clubhouse and the first teaching pro was the famous Claude Harmon, father of Butch Harmon, widely known as the premier teacher in the game of golf.
